*Blue Cave
At about 6 nautical miles from Herceg Novi, located on the Luštica peninsula is perhaps the most beautiful natural phenomenon on the Montenegrin coast – Blue Cave. It was created at the bottom of the 100 meters cliff, as a result of a thousand years impact of sea waves on porous rocks of Luštica. Cave has two openings, the smaller, on the southern side and a larger, 10 meters high and 15 meters wide, located on the southwest side, which allows tourists to attend the irresistible games of light and water in the inner part of the cave. This natural cave, with a ceiling of 9 meters above sea level, will take breath to anyone who visits it. Through the entrance sunlight enters its interior, and wraps around the surface of the water making great shades of blue by which cave got its name. The crystal clear and warm water just entices to dive into and to become one with irresistible atmosphere that these natural caves create.
**Dobrec, Miriste and Fishing village (Zanjic)
are 3 famous fishing restaurants, each one with beautiful beach or sea approach on which you can spend your free time. To some of these restaurants you can approach only by the sea.
*** Mamula Island
is an island with a carefully restored 19th century fort located at the entrance of UNESCO World Heritage Site Bay of Kotor. The fort was built in 1853 by Austro -Hungarian general Lazarus von Mamula and takes up about 90% of the island's surface area. Fort Mamula was part of the Austro-Hungarian Army's contingency plans of preventing the enemy entrance into the Bay of Kotor. During World War II, from 30 May 1942 onwards, the fascist forces of Benito Musolini's Kingdom of Italy converted the Mamula fort into a concentration camp The concentration camp was known for torture and cruelty to prisoners. Most of the camp's prisoners came from the neighboring area.
****Submarine tunnel
Submarine tunnels are located on Nord-east part of Lustica peninsula, just on the exit from the Bay of Kotor. Built by former Yugoslav Navy, these tunnels were used to keep submarines and smaller ships out of sight of the enemies during WW2. Now out of use, swimming in this submarine tunnels will make you feel as a part of history of this part of earth.
