Description:
The beginning of the trail is Gornja Lastva. The first kilometer follows a narrow mountain path that is a shortcut to the intersection of the roads to Stoliv, Marco’s cape (local name: Markov Rt) and Kotor.
On that path, we come across the so-called “Guardians of the Forest” (local name: Čuvari šume), stone formations that look like statues of people from a certain angle. After passing guards, we come across the remains of stone houses and immediately afterwards we come out on the main road.
We take a wide macadam road to the top of the hill Vrmac, elevation St. Ilija located at 765 m above sea level.
From St. Ilija the view stretches across the Tivat and Herceg Novi bays all the way to the top of Orjen on one side and across the Risan and Kotor bays to Lovćen on the other side.
Lovćen view, as well as Djerinski top (local name (Đerinski vrh), Pestingrad and Zalaze from this place is fantastic. It is also possible to see a large number of caves adorning the rocks at the foot of Pestingrad.
From this place you can see Perast, as well as the fortress of St. Andrija on Vranov’s hill (local name: Vranovo brdo) above Perast.
After the break, we continue to the monument-pyramid and then soon to one of the most famous historical fortresses in the Bay of Kotor, which withstood several attacks and “survived” after more than 100 projectiles hit its solid walls.
You can enter the fortress and see the incredible architectural and warrior art that made the fortress impenetrable during that time.
After visiting the fortress, the tour ends and we return by car to Tivat.
